Push back storage rack offers similar storage density as drive-in pallet rack while improving selectivity and accessibility to a range of SKUs. Product stored in lanes rests on a system of carts-on-rails available in 2 to 4 pallets deep. From one aisle, pallets are stored by pushing back previously placed pallets with a new pallet on the next cart position. When the front pallet is retrieved, gravity causes the next pallet to move forward into a ready position. This "last-in, first-out" system reduces picking time when a large number of picking faces are required.

Push back storage rack is a system where there are rollers on the racking that allows the fork lift truck to push back the pallets to allow one pallet to be stored in the front of another. The Material box or pallets are put on the trolley from outside, the subsequent material box or pallets will push the prior back up a channel rail. How the push back trolley operated

The Push Back Racking System features a nested cart system that holds up to 6 trays per pallet location. The pallets are located at the top of these trolleys, and when the pallets are loaded, the pallets on the pick side are pushed back, as well as any pallets behind. Then place the new pallet on the trolley nested below. When the pallet is pulled out of the picking surface, so the pallet behind moves forward one position.
