Drive through shelving system eliminates picking aisles and are the ideal solution for storing large quantities of similar pallets. The system provides safe block stacking for goods that are not stable enough to be stacked one on top of the other.

Drive through shelving system applies the LIFO (last in, first out) principle for loading and unloading. Drive-through installations are loaded and unloaded according the FIFO (first in, first out) principle. To guide the truck or pallets and to protect the installation we recommend the use of ground rails.

Drive through shelving system features the same design as drive in pallet rack but instead of being closed off at one end, the rack system is open at both ends, allowing forklifts to drive through it. This turns what would otherwise be a LIFO pallet storage system into a FIFO rack system as the pallets flow through the system. One side of the rack system is used most often to load product while the other side can be used to unload the product.

Welfor increases the life span of its drive-in racks by the use of high visibility upright guards and ground rails. The entry guides are not connected to the ground rails, allowing quick replacement in case of damage. The design of the system is done in such a way that entry guides stick out 200 mm, avoiding collisions with the drive-in structure.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance and upkeep is necessary to ensure the stability and safety of a drive-in pallet racking system. It is highly suggested that regular safety checks be performed to verify that the racking system hasn’t incurred any damage that may compromise the strength of the pallet rack or operator’s safety. Focus on checking for damaged frames, loose anchors, and damaged pallet rails.
